We believe in doing our part for the environment. In honor of Earth Day, Matricom decided to reflect on past actions on bettering the environment. In December Matricom was inspired by the Million Trees Miami movement. The non-profit’s mission is: growing a healthy urban forest that provides a minimum of 30 percent tree canopy coverage and the maximum social, economic, and environmental benefits to the region.
Matricom decided it would be fun to come together and plant a Buttonwood office tree outside their conference room. The tree was then named Mr. Buttonwood and is seen every time there is a meeting to serve as a reminder. A goal of Mr. Buttonwood is to be a lunch spot for coworkers to eat with each other. The company hoped to help improve the environment and beautify the exterior of the building.
Everyone is able to help maintain the ecosystem, by doing simple yet necessary things, such as recycling, reduce food waste and water usage, plant more greenery, and use vehicles less. These simple things help improve our environment and our quality of living. What will you do?
