HyperStream Gaming brings Nvidia Shield compatible streaming to the G-Box

You’re a loyal G-Box Q owner. You’ve been happy with the incredible XBMC and Kodi compatibility along with seamless integration with the full unrestricted Android OS, unlike every other Android TV device on the market. You watched last month as Nvidia released the Nvidia Shield, an Android TV device similar to the G-Box Q, but double the price. You became envious of the fact that the Nvidia Shield TV box could stream games over a network connection right to any television in the house. You want more… You want game streaming! Be envious no more.

Matricom is pleased to announce HyperStream Gaming’s beta release which brings Nvidia Shield GameStream compatibility to the G-Box Q. For those of you already familiar with the Nvidia Shield, HyperStream gaming transforms your G-Box Q into a Nvidia Shield compatible device. HyperStream Gaming, which is compatible with Nvidia GameStream, now brings the best of game streaming to any TV in your house over your LAN or 5G WiFi connection.

HyperStream Gaming is Matricom’s response to the recent launch of the Nvidia Shield Android TV box, which gamers all of over the world sat at the edge of their seats waiting for. The Shield box previously set itself apart from G-Box for the fact that it featured the ability to stream games from the PC to the TV. That feature has given Nvidia the ability to put a hefty $200 price tag on their device. We’re here to tell you to save your money, because your awesome little G-Box Q just got an upgrade, without having to buy any expensive new TV box hardware.

HyperStream Gaming has been developed to be used with the Matricom G-Pad, a wireless game controller developed for gaming on the G-Box. Not only is the G-Pad a great way to game, it’s also a great way to navigate the entire G-Box interface. Other game pads may also be compatible with HyperStream Gaming, however it has only been tested with the G-Pad, and at under $25, there’s no other pad on the market that would be a more affordable match for this.

While HyperStream Gaming is in Beta, it will be released as a downloadable APK, which must be manually installed on your G-Box Q. This APK requires the G-Box firmware framework and will only work properly on Matricom products. HyperStream Gaming has only been tested on the G-Box Q, however will be properly ported and tested on the G-Box MX2 at a later date.

Known bugs and/or limitations: Games that require a mouse are currently not supported. This is a known limitation at this time and is in works for a future release.
